Arranging tiles manually

By default the tiles in your hand are arranged automatically: first the suit tiles (Bamboos, Characters and Dots), then the Dragons (Green, Red and White) and finally the Winds (East, South, West and North). Since the suit tiles are arranged in the numerical order, the tiles are not necessarily grouped correctly as sets of Chows and Pungs. By arranging the tiles manually, you can group the tiles in the order you wish.

To enable the manual tile arrangement:
  1. Choose Preferences on the File menu.
  2. Choose Gameplay under the User Interface section in the category tree of the Preferences dialog box.
  3. Clear the Auto arrange hand box.

To arrange the tiles, simply click and drag the tiles where you wish to have them. If you prefer to use the keyboard, hold down the SHIFT key and use arrow keys to re-position the raised tile.

Tip: When using the manual tile arrangement, you can temporarily auto-arrange the tiles by holding down the CTRL key and clicking on any of the tiles in your hand, or by double clicking on the empty space immediately on the right of the last tile in the hand.
