Some sound devices are incapable of playing MIDI files correctly from the middle of the file (this feature is used in Four Winds, when the music is temporarily interrupted due to program switching or opening the Preferences dialog box). A symptom of this shortcoming (or error in the device driver) is that the music is played with piano (instead of the correct instrument, which e.g. in the default Four Winds theme is guitar). You can correct this error by forcing the MIDI to always play from the start (instead of continuing from the point where the music was initially interrupted).
Note: This option has no effect if you have DirectX installed in the system (most computers have), since in this case MIDI files are handled directly by DirectX.
