Adjusting the speed of the animation

If animation of the tiles makes the pace of the game too slow, you can adjust the speed of the animation:

  1. Choose Preferences on the File menu.
  2. Choose General under the User Interface section in the category tree of the Preferences dialog box.
  3. Enter the desired value in the Frequency and Delay boxes for each type of the tile effect. You can test the effects by clicking the corresponding tiles beside the controls. To disable the animation altogether, set its frequency to zero.

Note: In many situations you can bypass the tile animation by clicking anywhere on the game board. For more information, see Accelerating the pace of the game.
