Scoring

Scores for Flowers and Seasons

Flowers and Seasons are not used in the default European Classical version of Mah Jong. If they are included in the game, normally all players receive points as follows:

Flower 4 pts each CN*, HK 0; CO, IMS, K, T 1 pt n/a
Note: Points for Flower are always added (disregarding the used unit), even if this pattern is logically implied by another pattern (like All Flowers or All Flowers and Seasons).
Note that the pattern is available also in the Basic tile points category (as some rules specify both point and double scoring for flowers).

Seven Flowers and Seasons Consider as a winning hand (Y/N
Note: If checked, a hand is automatically declared as a winning hand immediately after the 7th Flower/Season tile has been placed on board (no supplement tile is given for the last Flower/Season). Points for all other patterns are always zeroed.
However, if All Flowers and Seasons is considered a winning hand, as well, a player is asked if he wants to go out on 7 Flowers/Seasons. If a player chooses not to go out (in order to wait for the 8th tile), he loses his chance to go out on 7 Flowers/Seasons later during that deal.
All Flowers and Seasons no extra points T 20 pt (robbed)/30 pt (self-drawn); CC 3 dbl; CN* 12 faan Consider as a winning hand (Y/N) T Yes
Note: If checked, a hand is automatically declared as a winning hand immediately after the 8th Flower/Season tile has been placed on board (no supplement tile is given for the last Flower/Season). Points for all other patterns are always zeroed.
Allow robbing of the 8th tile (Y/N) T Yes
Note: If checked, controls appear beside the check box allowing specifying a different scoring for the case the 8th tile is robbed. Note that a hand containing seven Flower and Seasons tiles is automatically declared as a winning hand immediately after another player has placed the 8th Flower/Season tile on board (no supplement tile is given for the last Flower/Season). The player who received the 8th Flower/Season tile is considered as a discarder of the winning tile. Points for all other patterns are always zeroed.
Note: This pattern implies scoring of all other patterns in this category (excluding No Flowers or Seasons), if specified in the same unit. However, scores for Flower and Season are never implied.
No Flowers or Seasons T 1 pt; HK, IMS, CN* 1 faan No Honors (Y/N) CN*, Yes
Only for Chow hand (Y/N) IMS Yes
*) The scoring is not enabled in the pre-defined rule preset but is a common option.

Note: In modern Chinese Mah Jong sometimes only the four Flower tiles are used (the Season tiles are excluded). This is supported in Four Winds, as well.
