Payments to winner – Chinese/Taiwanese Official scheme

This payoff scheme is used in Chinese (mainland) Official and Taiwanese 16-Tile Mah Jong. If the winning tile is self-drawn, all pay normally to the winner; if the winning tile is a discard, discarder alone pays winner's final score (other losers pay nothing).

Like Chinese Modern, this scheme accentuates meaning of going out self-drawn, even more so, since discarder is not penalized in any way (no extra double, nor payments for all).

  East Discarder Others Total
East self-drawn 1 3
Non-East self-drawn 1 1 3
East on discard 1 0 1
Non-East on East's discard 1 0 1
Non-East on Non-East's discard 0 1 0 1
