Scoring variations

Payments to winner – Each loser always pays the minimum

In Chinese Official rules with a minimum point requirement of 8 points, each loser always pays the amount of minimum points to the winner, disregarding the way of winning (whether by discard, self-drawn, East or non-East). In addition to minimum points, losers pay as specified in the payment table. You can apply the rule also in your customized rules.

To specify that each loser pays the minimum:
  1. Choose Preferences on the File menu.
  2. Choose a customized rule preset from the Rule presets list.
  3. Choose Payments under the Scoring section in the category tree of the Preferences dialog box.
  4. From the Payments to Winner list, select a preset you wish to use as the payoff scheme.
  5. Click the Table button.
  6. Check the Each loser always pays the minimum box.

Note: The option is available only if minimum point requirement is specified.
